About the Program
ISDP, established in 2006, is unique among degree programs. Unlike other traditional programs focusing on a specific field of study, such as Electro-physics, Applied Chemistry or Applied Mathematics, biology, or computer science, our program can incorporate many of the above and more — it depends on what you hope to get out of these fields with the help of advisors. Students will have to first select a department-based major, either in Electro Physics, Applied Chemistry, or Applied Mathematics, and then further pursue and combine different areas of interest that suit their individual learning and career goals. If both criteria are fulfilled, the students will be awarded a dual degree from ISDP and the student’s declared major.
Faculty
The college has an international reputation as an outstanding destination for education and research and is also well-known as an incubator for training entrepreneurs. All faculty in the College of Science are possible lecturers and advisors for all students. We also invite experts in industries or other academic institutions to give lectures.
Course Features
The interdisciplinary courses are designed in such a way in encouraging bottom up approaches. Specifically, the students from different department-based majors are teamed up to study and design projects together so as to learn from each other. Our courses also emphasize on development of soft skills such as communication, adaptability, problem-solving, teamwork, time management, work ethic as well as stress management. Some self-learning courses are also offered.

As an ISDP student, the following notable resources are available to you. International visits programs provide a distinct opportunity for personal growth and development. In recognition of the extraordinary potential of undergraduate students in the sciences, Academician and Chair Professor Yuan-Pern Lee established the Dream Creation for Science Project Scholarship, and for that, we are so grateful. In the past fifteen years, one in every five students received the scholarship for a short-term visit to the top programs in the world. Planning well, you will be able to join any cutting-edge research labs as an intern in the junior and senior years. Our students have priority to participate in a yearly class lectured by a distinguished visiting professor sponsored by the university funding.
