The Department of Information Management and Finance in National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) is the first FinTech-oriented department established in 2004, which meets the need for the trend of digital economy development in Taiwan. Our department aims to cultivate financial professionals with information technology capabilities and information management specialists with financial knowledge domain.
In recent years, financial services evolve digital transformation to meet market demand for zero-touch digital service along with the prevailing stay-at-home economy. In particular, in the post-pandemic period, financial online transactions have become more important. Following this development trend, the financial market demands cross-disciplinary experts to serve, such as professionals in information security, data privacy, artificial intelligence, big data analysis, etc. Our department which aims to cultivate cross-discipline professionals in information management and finance has been a leading department devoted to the application of digital financial technology in Taiwan. In particular, this department has also been frequently reported and interviewed by Taiwan mainstream media (e.g., Common Wealth Magazine, Liberty Times, United Daily News, China Times, Wealth Magazine, Mirror Media, and UNI Radio, etc.) referred to as one of the top-ranked and leading department classified in the first and second division of admission and enrolment in Taiwan.
Our department is operated in line with the “Financial Technology Development Path Map” promoted by Financial Supervisory Commission in 2020. Further, the mission of our development also complies with the concept of cultivating cross-disciplinary professionals in digital communication in the next decade supported by the Ministry of Education (MOE).
